Painting with Glass

Today my friend, Melissa, invited me to a ‘frit working class’.  Not knowing what to expect, but thinking anything with glass would be fun, I went.  We actually created ‘paintings’ using glass pieces, frit (crushed glass), glass stringers and glass powder.  The only thing holding the pieces in place is pump hairspray!  After the painting was finished, we covered the entire piece with clear glass frit, which will end up being a smooth glass cover once fired.
