I’m back from travel and over the holiday weekend, I made a couple thumbprint charms of our friend’s son, Tyler, out of silver metal clay. These pieces were super easy. I just rolled out the clay on a #2 setting on the clay pasta machine, oiled up Tyler’s thumb and made a print, then cut out the print with a shaped cutter, made a hole with a straw and let them dry. Before torch firing, I filed and sanded each to refine them. On the back, carved Tyler’s name and the date the prints were taken.
I finally bought the jute cord I needed to complete the Raku pottery wind chime…it doesn’t actually ‘chime’…more like a clink, but here is the completed Raku wind clink.
