Birthday Card and a Bookmark

I created this birthday card for a friend.  I used the Cloisonné Frame stamp by Michael Strong, embossed it, and cut it to make doors.  The inside image by Stampabilities is Party Ribbons from the House Mouse collection and is stamped and colored with Prismacolor colored pencils.  I used a flower stamp from the Stampin’ Up Looks Like Spring set to add the flowers to the blue background paper.  Once all was adhered, I used 2 flower brads, some twine and a bead as a closure.

I also made this bookmark with stamps from the Wish Dream set by Posh Limited.

Fiber Art and a Sympathy Card

I finally finished a fiber art project in memory of my grandfather, James Wiley Stout.  I still need to add some twine to the stick to hang (once the Scrabble tiles have dried).  The picture is of Pappy sitting on my toy car with his dog, Hurkey.  The construction is simple…just get some scraps of material, buttons, ribbon, game pieces, twine, a stick and collage it all together.

Sadly my friend had to say goodbye to her cat of nearly 19 years, Nova.  I made this card for her using stamps and watercolor paints.

Girl’s Trip 2011–Day 7

Today, we did sunrise photos at Monument Valley Navajo Tribal Park.  We were a bit disappointed that the road passed the visitors center wasn’t open, so we drove out toward Mexican Hat, UT and took more photos.  We had to change plans since hiking at Monument Valley was out, so we went to Bluff, UT and visited their Bluff Fort historic site and saw some petroglyphs near Sand Island.  We continued on to Canyon de Chelly, AZ (where it rained on us, of course) and visited a few overlooks before ending the day at Farmington, NM.

Today, we visited Capital Reef National Park.  Beautiful even though the weather wasn’t that great!

Girl’s Trip 2011–Day 5

We spent today in and around Escalante, UT.  We went to a little known petroglyph site and then to Devil’s Garden on the Hole in the Rock road.  We ended the day in Torrey, UT at the Capital Reef Inn, which has excellent food!
