This pretty girl is Ziva. My post is not about Ziva though. It's about what photography means to me. I'm not a professional photographer. I don't spend hours trying to figure out how to get into shows or land a big client. I don't have a really cool website...just a couple blogs. What I do is capture memories...stop time...make my subjects live forever. Little Ziva passed away because of the horrible life she lived in a puppy mill. I had the honor to spend time with her...and make sure she lives forever. Remember, photographers do have a super power...appreciate it and use it wisely.
Now aboult Ziva:
Ziva spent 5 years in captivity. Her mother chewed off her back feet, so she was kept as a breeding dog with little to no health care, poor food and no love. She was rescued by the National Mill Dog Rescue and enjoyed 5 wonderful days of freedom, respect and love. Ziva passed away due to heart worm she contracted in the puppy mill. By the time she arrived at NMDR, it was already too late for her. Her memory will live on though and be the inspiration to rescue more dogs abused by puppy mills.
Update: Five more of Ziva's dog friends were rescued this week from the same horrible facility in which Ziva spent most of her life. Plans to rescue more are currently under way.
